Harry J. Carr, Chairman

A seasoned leader in technology and telecommunications, Mr. Carr's track record of moving promising companies into market-leading positions is impressive to say the least. As Chairman and CEO at Tellium Inc., he brought the company from a startup with no revenue and an unfinished product to $1 billion in contracts, profitability and international recognition. He led Tellium through a successful IPO and merger with Zhone Technologies.

As President and COO of Lucent Technologies, Mr. Carr headed up the data networking division, where he profitably grew the business into a more than $2 billion operation. He also served as President and COO of Yurie Systems, transforming it into a market leader. Under his leadership, market capitalization doubled in less than a year and quarterly revenue grew by more than 20 percent and net income at an even greater rate. Mr. Carr has also held strategic executive positions at AT&T.


Jean-Luc Abaziou, Chief Executive Officer of Simpler Networks

With a long and impressive track record as an international senior executive, Jean-Luc Abaziou took the helm of Simpler Networks after serving on its board of directors as a venture partner with Highland Capital, one of the company’s investor. At Highland Capital, Mr. Abaziou specialized in investments in network infrastructure and wireless innovation.

Mr. Abaziou was previously Vice President and General Manager of Ericsson IP Infrastructure and President and CEO of both Torrent Networking Technologies and Alcatel Data Networks. He is an advisor for the French Foreign Commerce Ministry and has served as a board member or advisor to George Washington University, the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, the French-American Chamber of Commerce and California-based ANDA Networks. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from France’s École Supérieure d'Électronique de l'Ouest.


Mike Perrault, Co-founder, President and Chief Operating Officer of Simpler Networks

A pioneer in the telecom industry, Simpler Networks' co-founder, President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mr. Perrault has over 20 years of innovation under his belt. He was one of the visionaries responsible for creating Simpler Networks, having seen a clear and pressing need in the market.

Prior to his involvement with Simpler Networks, Mr. Perrault served as the Director of Technology and Operations for Nortel Networks and as Director of Business Development for NORDX/CDT, a cable spinoff of Nortel Networks.


Louis Tanguay, representative of the Solidarity Fund QFL

Mr. Tanguay joined the board of Simpler Networks after a long career with the Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE) group, where he held leadership positions within a number of the company's divisions and subsidiaries. He was Senior Vice President, Chief Corporate Officer and President and CEO of local service at Bell Canada. Mr. Tanguay was also President of the Innovation Center (now BCE Emergis), President for the Quebec region, and President and CEO of Bell Canada International.

Mr. Tanguay plays an active role in the community and in the business world. He is member of a number of boards of directors, including those of Canbras Communications and Bell Nordiq (subsidiary of BCE), RONA, Saputo and Aéroports de Montréal.


Jean-Luc Abaziou, Venture Partner at Highland Capital Partners.

As a Venture Partner at Highland Capital Partners, Mr. Abaziou focuses on communications and information technology investments, specializing in networking infrastructure and wireless opportunities. He currently represents Highland on the board of ANDA Networks and plays an active role assisting Highland portfolio companies in building successful new businesses.

Mr. Abaziou has served as Vice President and General Manager of Ericsson IP Infrastructure, and is the former President and CEO of Torrent Networking Technologies (acquired by Ericsson). He was also President and CEO of Alcatel Data Networks, overseeing the global operations of Alcatel Data Networks in the United States, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. He is an advisor for the French Foreign Commerce Ministry and has served on a number of boards and advisory boards, including those of the French-American Chamber of Commerce and George Washington University of Northern Virginia.


Dave Furneaux, Co-founder and Managing General Partner of Kodiak Venture Partners

As co-founder and Managing General Partner of Kodiak Venture Partners, Mr. Furneaux focuses on semiconductor and communications investments. Mr. Furneaux was an active early investor in AuroraNetics (acquired by Cisco) and was also the founding investor and active Chairman of the Board of Extreme Packet Devices (acquired by PMC-Sierra), which he brought into the Kodiak portfolio from Furneaux & Company, LLC, a seed-stage high-technology venture investment firm he co-founded in 1996.

While at Furneaux & Company, Mr. Furneaux was a founding investor in Philsar Semiconductor (acquired by Conexant), InterSense, and Sibercore Technologies. He also was a founding investor, Vice President of Business Development and member of the board of Skystone Systems (acquired by Cisco Systems). Previously, he was a member of the founding team of Chrysalis Symbolic Design (acquired by Avanti), an innovative semiconductor design company in the electronics design automation industry. Mr. Furneaux was also a Telecommunications Analyst with the National Conference.

Mr. Furneaux is Chairman of the Board of Litchfield Communications and TeraConnect and a member of the boards of Potentia Semiconductor, Silicon Dimensions and Tropic Networks.


Hubert Manseau, Co-Founder and Senior Partner of Multiple Capital

Hubert Manseau is co-founder and senior partner of Multiple Capital, where he handles venture capital portfolios in information and advanced technology. He spent eight years as President and CEO of Innovatech du Grand Montreal, a major Canadian high-tech venture capital firm.

Mr. Manseau was Executive Vice President of the Computer Research Institute of Montreal and has held senior executive positions in information technology at the Université de Québec, Videotron and DTI Telecom. He is Governor and former President of the Quebec Venture Capital Association and a director and advisor for a number of high-tech firms and venture capital funds.

Mr. Manseau has served as Director of the Canadian Network for the Advancement of Research, Industry and Education and as Director and Chairman of the Board of Collège Edouard-Montpetit, the largest public college in Quebec. Mr. Manseau was a founding member of Quebec’s first Internet service provider and has co-founded two technology start-ups.
